The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) is aimed at new and existing teachers looking to improve their knowledge and skills. The qualification builds upon the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), and provides a great platform to advance to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET). So whether you’ve just started in a teaching role or are set to begin for the first time, the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a great opportunity to excel.
What did the qualification used to be called?
The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (CET) has replaced the now-defunct CTLLS qualification. The CTLLS qualification was the previous name for the Level 4 teaching qualification, so you may still see the acronym crop up from time to time. The CET and CTLLS qualifications are broadly the same, but a few minor improvements have been made to refresh and modernise the content.
What does the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training allow you to do?
The CET qualification is used to sharpen your skills as a teacher or trainer. It is often taken as a springboard to the Level 5 Diploma. However, even if you don’t opt to take the Level 5 course, the CET qualification will still qualify you to deliver teaching/training in limited settings.
