What is the Level 4 IQA Award?

The Level 4 IQA Award certifies you as a fully qualified IQA. 

You’ll be able to undertake IQA activities and monitor the assessment carried out internally by others. Essentially, with the Level 4 IQA award you will be responsible for ensuring assessments are conducted fairly within an organisation.

What will I be doing as an IQA?

This course is composed of two units:

UNIT NO: 1 — Understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment

UNIT NO: 2 — Internally assure the quality of assessment

This qualification takes approximately 120 hours to complete.

What are the requirements for the level 4 IQA course?

There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent. You must also have access to work with two assessors, each of whom have two of their own learners to assess. Plus, you must have access to ‘lead’ or manage one or more IQA.

Are there further qualifications?

Qualified IQAs may seek to take their career further by earning the The Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. This is the most advanced IQA course and will qualify you to lead a team of internal quality assurers.
